1. Eligibility:
The "From Recycle to Remarkable" Furniture Flipping Challenge ("Contest") is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry and reside in the United States.
Employees, agents, affiliates, and immediate family members of Up Paint and Furniture Flipping Teacher are not eligible to participate.
2. Entry Period:
The Contest entry period begins on December 2, 2023, and ends on January 2, 2024.
3. How to Enter:
To enter, participants must complete the official entry form provided on the Contest website (https://uppaint.com/pages/furniture-flipping-contest).
All required fields must be completed, including name, email address, project category, materials description, and uploading of project photos and receipts (if applicable).
Only one entry per person per category is allowed.
Entries must be received by 11:59 PM (UTC) on January 2, 2024, to be considered.
4. Submission Guidelines:
Participants must provide accurate and complete information.
Project photos must include both before and after shots of the furniture flip.
For the "On a Budget" category, participants must upload receipts for Up Paint materials and furniture.
All entries must be original and not infringe upon any third-party rights.
5. Judging and Prizes:
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Creativity and Originality (40%)
- Craftsmanship (30%)
- Transformation (20%)
- Narrative (10%)
As part of the evaluation process, individuals may be asked to join a video call with the judges to learn more about the project.
Judges' decisions are final and binding.
There will be three winners, one in each category (On a Budget, Best Dresser, Flipper's Choice), each receiving a prize of US$1,000.
The Contest is not affiliated with any social media platform or Michaels Stores, Inc.
6. Winner Announcement:
Winners will be announced on January 5, 2024, live on The Furniture Flipping Teacher's YouTube channel.
7. Prize Delivery:
Prizes will be delivered by check to an address provided by the winners within three days following the winner announcement.
8. Intellectual Property:
By submitting an entry, participants grant Up Paint and Furniture Flipping Teacher the right to use, display, and promote their submitted content for marketing and promotional purposes.
9. Publicity Rights:
By participating, contestants agree to allow their name, likeness, and project details to be used for promotional purposes related to the contest, without any compensation.
10. Ownership of Submissions:
Participants retain ownership of their submitted work but grant the contest organizers the right to use and display the submissions for promotional purposes.
11. Termination of Contest:
The organizers reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to force majeure events.
12. Indemnification:
Participants are responsible for any claims or damages arising from their participation in the contest.
13. Severability:
If any part of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will still be in effect.
14. Arbitration or Dispute Resolution:
Disputes related to the contest will be resolved through arbitration or mediation in accordance with the laws of Michigan, United States.
